Spare Bathroom Overhaul

One of the first rooms we tackled was the spare bath because while we were only living in one room, having a decent bathroom is fairly essential. This is one room that I did not get a before picture of before the boys started the demolition process. Imagine dated fixtures, awful laminate floors and lovely green walls with some sort of texture done in a cream on top of the green.

Needless to say, we completely gutted the bathroom, shower and all, and decided to go with a pre-fab shower, tile floor and updated fixtures. Here's the mood board I created for the room:

I wanted to go with penny tiles, but Brent wasn't quite on board so we met in the middle with a hex & dot pattern and went with white tile and a medium grey grout. Brent completed the tile over the course of 2 days, but the entire bathroom took almost a month (working only on weekends) from start to finish. If you are thinking using penny tile in a room in your house, check out this great tutorial from the DIY Village.

The vanity & mirror were easy choices and after a bit of back and forth we landed on a vintage-ish fixture.
